RIP Puddleduck

So sorry @Daphne_loves_mealworms Puddles was beautiful. And we all understand wanting our birds to have a carefree life and be able to forage it’s heartbreaking when something they love brings heartbreak to us.

Thank you all very much for your support! Apparently, the neighbors have left for the summer, taking their kids and animals. Also, ongoing utility work in the area has finished. My little rural area is now still and silent, a perfect time for the more elusive predators to move in. My cameras show that the bobcat is still around. Matilda, Puddles’ sister, is having a rough time. Daphne and the ‘Scovettes have mostly recovered from their trauma. I haven‘t been able to remove Puddles‘ final eggs from her nest. My only consolation is that she didn’t suffer (and that her sisters are ok). Also, at least the bobcat didn’t waste her body like a stupid weasel would. Anyways, thank you all very very much ♥️
