Thanks, all! I am imagining her breathing with no effort and free ranging with all the other chickens we have loved and lost. It helps knowing you know how I feel. I am so attached to these chickens-they are a part of our family!!

I'm so sorry! I just got chicks last week and its my first time. Before I got them(while I was waiting for them to come) I would hear about people's chickens dieing. And I would say Oh I'm so sorry but never really understood why losing a chicken was so terrible. I mean I could understand a dog or horse. But now that I am FINALLY a chicken mommy I totally understand!!!! I don't know what I would do if 1 of my babies died! I never knew it was possible to love a chicken so much. Again I'm so sorry!

I'm so sorry about Snowflake. I have only had my girls for 2 months but I am incredibly attached to them. You did everything you could for her and you know what? She died knowing she was loved and cared for.
