Can I just get some sand off the road (or stone dust from the floor of the barn) and use that as grit? I haven't let my chicks outside yet, but I want to give them treats. The reason I ask is that I saw a bunch of goslings doing just that recently. I live on a dirt road, if that's any help, and am quite sure the sand isn't mixed with salt-
