Roaming Dogs coming in and killing yesterday

This is one of the replies on the Neighborhood app post that I woke up to this morning:

“If that guinea dies will you to sell that livestock for the meat? Did you freeze the second one? Guineas cooked correctly are good protein. As a side dish or a main course.”

I have realized that I have quite a few mean spirited bullies in the surrounding areas from us. Just WOW!

Your neighbors are assholes. Good Lord.
I hope someone says something just as nice to them when their pets die.

What are your plans? Are you going to get your boy a new mate, or let him live out his days and get a new pair?

Yes, I do believe they are quite the assholes!
I honestly don’t know what to do in regards to him. Right now I’m just concentrating on getting him all healed up. He is eating and drinking well but his poor little body is so ripped up. There is a house about 2 miles from us that I have noticed that they had guineas. Not sure if they still do. Was thinking maybe I’d knock on their door and see if they’d take him so he could be with his like kind. The only way I could get him friends is by getting a pair of chicks from our local Atwood’s store. And that’s not going to do him any good at this point and I really don’t want guinea chicks now as I have baby chicks and ducklings right now. I’ll definitely try to find him a nice safe home with friends for him. He doesn’t really care for my chickens so he really needs another guinea.

Yeah, poor guy. He must be lonely. Seeing if the people down the way would take him sounds like a good idea. He could have friends his own age, and then you can get new chicks when you're ready.
I'm really sorry you have to deal with this. Losing pets in such a violent manner is awful enough without having to deal with the social backlash as well. This whole thing is unbelievable.

I would stop looking at that site. Especially if you're looking for confirmation from anyone that you're "right" in wanting to shoot the dogs. Don't reply to the snarky comments, just let it go and disappear. That way when those dogs return (and they will if they get loose again), hopefully your post will be long gone, and people have moved on. Then when those dogs disappear, you may not be the first place the owners come looking. I understand that dogs get loose and accidents happen. Maybe that's what happened here. I'll give a dog and it's owners one chance. After that, all bets are off.

I love all my pets, dogs were here first. I do everything I can to protect all of them. I could never shoot a dog, but I would have no problem finding it a home with responsible owners. Now I also get animals get out, so this is geared towards dogs that are constantly running and owners just don't care. Killing the dog will do nothing as far as the owners go, these kind of owners ele ill just get another one.
