Hey everyone, have some eggs in an incubator, we are on day 18 and have a few of the eggs rocking gently every so often, no cheeping yet, any idea when I can expect them to be hatched? Wasn't expecting them until Monday!

Day 17/18 it is common to see rocking because the chicks are positioning themselves, head under wing getting into position to pip. Often after the initial wiggling they will rest and you won't see anything for a day or two. If your temps averaged at the right temp, generally you start to see pipping on day 20/21. If temps were high you could see action a bit before and if temps averaged low you'd see a delay. There is no way to tell when to expect them. The rocking is a good sign though. Once you hear- if you hear- chirping from inside, that tells you they have internally pipped and generally you'll see some external action within 24 hours.
