Lance Ellis, MTC is an instructor for the University of Idaho Extension Service and has taught poultry classes all over Idaho, Utah & Wyoming. He has graciously agreed to come and teach a couple of seminars at our event.

He will be teaching Children’s Poultry – this class was designed for little kids to learn about poultry, more about eggs, where birds are originated from and what they eat. Simple and fun class with a hands on demonstration of a laying hen, eggs, and feed.

Then he will teach, Showing poultry at the fair – a whole class for 4-H youth to prepare themselves to show birds at the fair. Includes washing and prepping birds for the fair, answering poultry questions, and how to handle your birds.

Thanks Lance!!!

Hey there! Do you have any idea of how many people are planning to come to RMC?

I am pretty excited about it. I live a ways from IF ... guessing seven hours from there... but hoping to make it. Beth

I am hoping we have several hundred.. We have had a really great response already from all over Idaho and Utah, and even some from Montana, Washington and Wyoming planning to come. I think we'll have to have a cool prize for who ever travels the furthest to come!!

All of the local 4-H clubs are excited too, this is the first event outside of the fair that they have had the opportunity to attend in regards to poultry. With the breeders that are bringing birds, the classes etc, it is really turning into a great event!

I am going to work on getting a discount rate at one of the hotels for those that would like to spend the night and will post those details as soon as they are finalized.

Mimis_Place has generously donated 18 Indian Runner hatching eggs. They could be black, white, blue, brown, and fawn & white. Some could and probably will be crested as well. THANKS!!!
