Not sure if you were being funny or not, while it might solve the over mating, won't solve the attacking her. rehoming with someone knowing why or the freezer is about the only way to deal with it.

I understand not wanting to advertise on Craiglist. I won't do it either. I am blessed I have 2 friends that will take all my roos.
You could put up a poster at your feed store about your roos.
Some people speak about a situation before they think about what they say so don't let anyone break your spirit.
I have had to get rid of roos for being aggressive and hated to do it because I was attached even to their horrible attitudes. I hope everything works out great for you.

I can deal better with a roo that comes after me than goes after my girls. I started out thinking I'll just keep all the roos and I did for years. But if the one was mistreating the hens, out he went. I have had roos that protect the girls, let the girls have All the treats and eat first, warm the nest, and at night circle the coop making sure all the girls were in.

It's a fact of life that chickens get eaten and bad things may happen to roos. It's more humane to let someone process them and eat them. It's better than him being abused.

One important rule with roos. Never ever back away. Wear jeans and stand your ground. And make Him back up-a lot. It's rooster language for "It's rooster language for "I am the alpha roo, not you"

Take care of and responsibility for your pets. This isn't a bandaid or rubber band fix and don't feed your birds to your dogs unless you want your dogs to sooner then later tear into their pen and eat them all.
Get on Craigslist asap and put up an ad for free roosters for the eating.
Its not very responsible to turn them loose to fend for themselves and as you see it is just turning into more problems.
If you don't want to kill and or eat them yourself find someone who will and yes it can be done it you try there are hungry people everywhere.
Also secure and or finish the run/coop for your girls before they become predator bait.
Covering the run would be nice but I'm unsure if its really sunburn or from the roosters constantly breeding them and tearing their backs up.

I understand, the bare backs do get sunburn.

Ahhh... but to get 100 more hens they would need 200 more birds, and that would just compound the cockerel problems even more! Unwillingness to cull or allow the birds to be culled by someone else is going to end in suffering and dead birds.

Most people end up with bareback hens because they have more than one rooster. The dominant bird mates them and the others sneak around running hens down constantly. Most rooster issues is a management problem. Of course there’s a few that are screwy but the vast majority are ruined by people who think the rooster thinks like a human. Thread after thread of the same goofy advice.

Roosters are aggressive, they are dominant and they programmed to protect hens and territory. When you have multiple roosters you screw everything up and then they become unpredictable. This isn’t rocket science.

What’s up with letting unwanted birds fend for themselves. Sorry that’s BS. Responsible ownership is not just letting them out. Make soup or find a home and when that doesn’t work make more soup. Sorry but if you can’t deal with rooster/cockerels responsibly maybe you should buy sexed chicks. Not trying to be rude just giving my 2 cents. Good luck

Allowing chickens to free range 24/7 isn’t wrong. I’m definitely not defending turning a a whole bunch of roosters loose and not pay attention to them but chickens kept caged 24/7 is a more recent backyard thing.
