Roo or hen? Splash orpington

I posted a picture of this same chicken about a month ago and I got mixed reviews on whether or not this chicken was a male or a female. I am I'm starting to lean heavily towards a male. In the last few weeks some longer feathers have started developing by the tail. It crows a lot( but always has) , no eggs, no spurs, and very friendly. It had a small and light colored waffle and comb until about 4.5 months old. It is now 5.5 months old. Opinions?

Yes, those saddle feathers give him away without even zooming into the pic.

Handsome boy, although with the feathers I see on his legs I disagree to him being a pure Orpington.

It looks like its carrying the gold base gene, which works best in black lines. The silver base gene is going to look better on the blues and the splash, the gold gene will make the splashes and blues look dirty/rusty the older they get. just a heads up!

I second the others - cockerel. AlleysChicks is correct in suspecting he's not a true Orpington, as they don't sport feathered legs. Mixed breed tends to make more sense. Another possibility (depending on where you got him) is Blue Splash Marans.

Rooster. One thing to look at is the thickness/heavier appearance of his legs.
