I have some bantam chicks that i got this year I’m im trying to figure out if she is just silly OR is a rooster. She (or he) crows a lot more than the other birds and just seems to go crazy all of the time running around. They also have a larger bright red comb.

this chicken is just so hard to handle and extra temperamental compared to the others and just has different features and personality.

The bright red comb, and the crowing; thats a dead giveaway at this age. You can also see his male-specific feathers coming in

The feathers on the neck - shiny, and pointed. The comb and wattles bright red much earlier than the pullets, the crow and behavior. Often times these birds appear friendly and forward. I would be pleased that he is a bit skittish, and keeping his distance, and encourage that if you are planning on keeping him.

Truthfully though, if I ever think, 'wait, is that a rooster?' He is.
