Roo or not

With silkies they can be protective for quite a long time, especially with only one or two chicks. Even when she doesn't really care to protect him anymore they will probably still hang around together, that may not stop until he hits puberty and gets annoying, or she decides to go broody again.

Afraid that would be the case. She has been laying eggs again since his 7 week of age and he sits with her while she lays. Thanks

11 week picture of Buster, started crowing Tuesday!! Still mom and him are still inseparable and she lays daily.

How cute they are together, he looks bigger than her already. I wonder what he will do if she goes broody again, are you planning on keeping him?

Yes planing to keep him. I too wonder what they will do when she goes broody again. She is still protective of him. If I seperate them for a few minutes they both raise all kind of wild behavior.
