    I have 8 chickens..............7 hens and a roo.
They are all about 9 months old.
My roo has not yet crowed, and I'm wondering if there is still hope that he will, one day?
    I keep waiting......................

    Count your blessings...

... and if he breeds well and passes on that trait, you could make some good money!!!

Why on earth would you hope for something many of us don't want?!?!?!

What kind is he? I'm "borrowing" a roo next week who has yet to crow, but I suspect when he gets away from the dominant roos in his current home he will start. I'll trade you!

Well I'm in the middle of a city, and I dream of having a rooster. I also dream of not getting found out and having my chickens taken from me.

If you want a crower, I but you need look no further than BYC. There's probably an unwanted one within 5 miles of your house. And then, send me your mime rooster!

    Is he mounting the ladies?

Most people post here complaining that their roosters crow too much! And you want yours to crow!

I agree, if he never crows, then breed that boy and make some $$$$. I'm curious though, does he look out for the ladies? Is he mating?

ETA: My cockeral that I hatched started crowing at 4 DAYS old. And I'm not joking. (of course, it didn't sound like a real crow then)

I also have a rooster that "currently" does not crow. I believe the reason is because he is new to the flock and is not dominant over the ladies. My husband was given the rooster and was going to make soup out of him but since he's been quiet we still have him. I'm sure he will crow eventually and so will yours.
