Rooster added to chicks

I have 8 older hens a year old and about 24 chicks from the ages of 6-10 weeks old I found someone getting rid of a rooster and 4 year old hens. The little chicks are with my hens now and free range all other than the 10, 6 week old ones. Will there be a problem with introducing a rooster with the little pullets or will they be fine

As long as there are adult hens in the flock, the chicks will probably be fine. I'd be more worried about the older hens with the chicks.
