Hi,
I live in Eagle Rock considered part of Los Angeles.
A very handsome fellow came to our street last Monday and selected my yard to hang out whenever he’s not walking through the neighborhood crowing. The neighbors come by and take photos of him, however there are a few hostile neighbors, one even said he would kill him on the spot. I’ve been trying to find his owner or a good home with no luck. I’ve heard that he had been living up the hill for the past 3 months. Maybe I shouldn’t be feeding him. He is not aggressive but he won’t let me come up to him. I’m concerned about cars, dogs and angry neighbors.
I’ve called our North Central LA animal shelter, who claims they find homes for roosters rather than put them down, to pick him up. An officer came out and said she couldn’t catch him, we would have to catch him—if she’s the animal expert and can’t how does she think we could? I am calling the Lt. tomorrow and try to have him send out officers who know what to do.
Would anyone in the area be interested in taking him in. I'm contacting sanctuaries but the ones nearby are full. Is there someone I could contact that could catch a rooster? We like him but we’re not zoned to keep him and I’m trying very hard to find a humane solution. Thanks>Deborah (dchrsv)
