Rooster Chat

Amiti, that is a good plan, I was hoping I could get away with 3 pullets and a cockerel with no problems, but I was wrong, some breeders have quads in their pens but I guess it is different when the hens and rooster are older. I'm hoping to get the saddles today, it hurts me to see 2 of my girls with bare spots in their backs. Wish you the best of luck

He is only 7 months old. The girls will b 1 in April and may. I am going to look for more hens while he is seperated from them. Then when I move him in I will have a place to put new pullets to quarantine.

Sounds like a good plan. If I didn't have my accidental EE roo, I was going to get a Welsummer. Beautiful boys, they are! Post pictures, please! I hope your new flock will be happy, but yes, perfect excuse for more lady chickens. :)

I am hooked on chickens! Each with their own little personality!
I will get some pics soon. He is just starting to get his manly feathers so I will b taking lots of pics as they grow.

Are you supposed to post pics? Well, this is my 1 year old serama rooster. I have been saying he is a serama forever but i am now starting to think welsummer? he only weighs 1 lb and 5 ounces so he is certainly the size of a serama . . .???

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Sorry,  no experience with that No Crow collar.
Although one friend said it didn't work at all for her rooster, so she just made her own.

I did try to get one, one time, but thinking about it, it isn't very nice for them.
I wouldn't use a now crow collar not nice for the bird it is not natural
Cheers

Pic of a welsummer roo (don't know if its a bantam or not) And a serama: They both look similar, my roo came from my neighbors and i don't know what breed he is.
I'm not sure of its breed but it legs r supposed to be yellow for a welsummer. I am not sure what the sop is on the other kind. He could be a mixed breed.
