Rooster/Cockerel Photo Thread

He's pretty.

My Black Copper Maran/Gamefowl cross is starting to show his fighting side towards my other roos, is there away I can tame this wild side?
He's not aggressive towards me, or his flock mates. This question is for anybody who would like to answer.View attachment 1929604 Such a handsome boy.
My suspected game cross roo is a bit of a jerk to anyone below him in the pecking order. However, with a lot of space for them to get away he won't harass them. Then again, he's also in my roo flock, so there's a lot less aggression than there would be if he was in a mixed flock of hens and roos.

Wow he is handsome, what breed is he?
Thank you.
Adam is a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. He's a big boy but he's still young.

Okay. Mine is in a flock mixed with cockerels, & pullets he was raised with. It's only when I bring him out into the grassy area next to my other coop, & he challenges my oldest rooster, & the younger cockerels in that flock. Nobody else does this when I bring them out to eat grass. He went to attack a Blue Jay two weeks ago.

Thank you.

I thought about getting some of this breed, but they were not sexed at the place I order from. I am limited on where I can order live chicks from since our Post office closes at 10 AM. How many did you order of this breed and how many of them actually ended up with the blue coloring.

I ordered 3 of them. Unsexed. Ended up with:
1 blue/red cockerel (Adam)
1 blue/red pullet (didn't survive)
1 orange/black cockerel (I think someone called it golden laced, but I'm not sure...)

All of mine had rosecombs but I'm told that some hatchery stock do not due to breeding quality.

Do you have pictures of the Orange/black cockerel? Would love to see him. I think Rooster are so beautiful. And speaking of quality from hatchery stock I ordered 2 Dominiques in a order of mixed breed chicks from Hoover. One has the Rose comb and the other a single comb. It doesn't bother me much, I have my chickens for pets and for the eggs they will lay. I wanted a pretty egg basket with all different shades. Although I do have 4 Roosters just in case I want some babies.
