Rooster doesn't like my shoes?!!

I have one pair of boots that my very docile rooster hates. When I see him giving the boots some serious stink-eye, I hold one foot up and let him peck at the toe. After that he's fine, he just has to get that peck in to remind the boots that he doesn't like them.

That's hysterical! I haven't had it happen to me (yet?) but it's funny that they have opinions about footwear!

Mine just did that to me earlier this week when I wore different shoes -- key word DIFFERENT. Chickens, like most animals (including people) don't like things to change.

Work with him just like you would for an aggressive roo until he learns to leave them alone. I "chickened out", you might say, and just went back to my other boots, but in my case it was a matter of new boots/old boots, it was "I don't really feel like going in and changing into my perfectly acceptable chicken boots just to lock the pop door".

Thanks for all your replies. At least now I know it has happened to others and my roo is not the only wacko one with a shoe problem!

That's so funny! Mine are still babies (4 1/2 weeks) but whenever I take them out and I'm wearing my pink & grey suede Nike's they go insane attacking my feet. I'm thinking I better get a new pair of outside shoes when they start getting bigger
