Rooster fight! help!

i went out today and saw 2 of my roosters where fighting like crazy! i seperated them emidiatly and put them in seperate cages. they are both pretty banged up on the face, but one of them is acting fine and even crowing so im guessing he is alright. but the other rooster is terrible just on the face though, one eye is swollen shut and he is pretty bloody on his comb. anything at all i can do for him? whats the best way to make the swelling stop and the best way to clean up his cuts and get all that blood off of him? any advise would be great! i love this rooster dearly and i hatched and raised him my owne so i really want to help him the best i can. (would it be helpful if i posted pics or would that be to groosom?)

tomorow i will post pictures, i didnt have the time to today. i really hope he makes it through the night.... he and one other chick who got killed by a fox where the only ones who hatched out of my very first attempt to incubate. thanks

Just clean up the faces and wipe off the blood. Likly the blood is covering the eye and it dried shut and thus swelling a bit. They'll likly be just fine, just get them cleaned up.

Once they get better, looks like it's time to find one of the two a new home.

Sorry. I don't know how to send links yet but you will really find the best answers here. Also get some pure peppermint oil and place it all around your coop. It has to be pure peppermint oil. The fox will stay away.

I think that if you check out the "Injuries" threads I think that you will find some suggestions for cleaning wounds. If nothing else use a little warm water with a little bit of salt to clean out the wounds. Then use some neosporin in the wounds (just once) to kill the germs.

i dont know if i could bare sell either one of them, but if i must i know which one well go, the back and white one that isnt as bad as the other one. i really wish these two could just get along as i love both of them dearly!

Give it a couple of days and the swelling will go down and the fella should be fine.

But you now have a problem because you will probably not be able to put those two together again without the same thing happening.
