Rooster Flock Observations

Myself, I see the other side, the more agresixe will mate the lesser roosters. IF a hen/pullet gets in with them they will mate it even after its dead and cold. IF a grandkid tosses in a stuffed animal they will take turns on it, or even a spot on the ground.
NO thanx not here, not again, I will cull, they act so much better in the freezer!.
That's what everyone does. This is more for the people who want to choose life and work with their roosters like they would a problem dog. I'm seeing the other side in not all roosters are bad, they all deserve a chance. Which is why I made this thread, so people can see how it works and how amazing roosters can be.
But I don't expect everyone to just suddenly stop killing extra roosters, like I said this is for those that don't want to do that.

My RIR/Silkie/Cochin has begun crowing back feathers, so I have them all on Feather Fixer feed to help.
Anything else I should be doing to help my little guy grow his feathers back faster?

Good for you for getting these guys separated out. I hope all goes well for your rooster flock.

Since all of these are male, personally, I would feed them either chick starter or an all flock/flock raiser type feed. I've never tried feather fixer, but it does have the calcium that layer feed has. Males don't need as much calcium as the girls. You could finish up with the feed you have then make the switch if you wish.
Just my thoughts.

That's what I was thinking! When I bought the bag I was looking at the roosters on it, but when I got home I saw it says it helps eggshells too so I figured it's just a fancy name for layer feed. I already buy Flock Raiser for my ducks so I've got some on hand already. Would you suggest mixing it together for the Rooster Flock or would that just prolong the extra calcium instead of getting through it faster?

You could mix it with the Feather Fixer if you wish or if you have hens, let them have it. No need for it to go to waste. I don't think one bag would hurt them - it's just long term excess calcium. IF all your roosters are at least 18weeks or older.

You mentioned giving egg - that for my flock is a favorite treat. You can also give a little tuna or meat as well.

fwiw - I feed Flock Raiser to all my chickens, I like the 20% protein and don't have to worry about buying different feeds for different age groups.

How is the noise level? Is it nonstop crowing?
My bantams don't crow very often, probably even less than my main flock roosters.
My standard size rooster flock crows pretty constant when they haven't been let out, but once everyone is out there's this timeframe (maybe 30 minutes?) where everyone gets crowing out of their system, and then it's really not that bad. I would say it's just about average, usually when one rooster crows, one to two more will answer and then it stops for a while.
The closer it is to evening, the quieter it gets. Like I have not heard any crowing since I got home from work and that was at 7pm, it's now 9:30.

That's a good point, flock raiser is cheaper too by a whole dollar here. I might think about doing that.

I have five Naked Neck chicks that are 11 weeks old.
Three are cockerels.
They’re awesome!
I love their personalities and beautiful colors.
I’m hoping I can keep them all but I’m a little worried about noise from crowing.
Interestingly, my bantam Cochin is the same age but he’s the only one that crows right now.
My boys haven’t been too aggressive and my lead boy, Conan, has actually been doing a lot of grown up chicken things lately.
He does a call that makes all the chicks (there’s 8 total) run to him.
I’ve also seen him do alarm calls and even tidbitting occasionally.
My boys (L-R): Conan, Loki & Angus
