It will eventually wheres trimming It off will shorten the pain time a whole lot. And if it's cold it won't bleed much if anymore than an ooze.

My Barr Rock rooster has this very painful and nasty looking comb. He kept shaking his head while walking around. At first I thought he got a bad frostbite but when his comb turned yellow I got worry. Maybe he got some kind of fungal infection ? What do you think? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My barred rock roo has the same problem even though the coop is not drafty. Recent temps in northern Mass/southern Vermont were horrible though. I have started to apply green goo to his comb. May be too late but might help in future.

Yes! This is just to help stop it from spreading sometimes. How bad is your weather? This usually only happens in really bad temps or if it’s really rainy and gets chilly
