ShouldCan someone tell me how to treat my poor rooster. He is kinda old about 5 years old ,has trouble walking but what I'm concerned with now is his swollen head,I came home to him barely breathing and head soaked in blood.his eyes are swollen shut.our other rooster got out and beat him up .what can I do to help him?
We keep our two roosters separated because they will fight each other so we keep them separated and I had been gone overnight and I come home early the next morning and my son had already let the rooster out of the hen house with that and the other rooster that was in the pen somehow got loose somebody left their door open and he attacked my old rooster and I come home my old rooster was hiding by our barbecue with his head hit and I didn't know if he was alive or not he didn't look like it and so I pulled them out and he was still alive and he got beaten up from the other rooster was running around loose so am I I went and I gave him a warm bath and I tried to get to clean them up some but his head's all swelled up and his eyes are swollen shut and he's barely moving but he is moving it tiny bit and I I he drank some water from a little syringe I had he drank from that and now I just got them all bundled up and nice and warm in this soft little blankie and I just don't know if I should wrap his head because his head is so swollen his I've never seen it this swollen before yeah so I'm just I don't know if I should wrap his head or I don't know what to do I just I'm saddened by this he's my baby I just want to make him better and comfortableWhat happened? The absence of feathers and reddened skin looks as if this has been an ongoing issue that recently escalated. If another rooster was involved, I would separate them. Apply antibiotic ointment, and he should be fine.

Ok will do thank you so much.An ophthalmic ointment, Neosporin, even Vaseline - basically anything that would keep it moist and enable him to open his eyes.
Good luck. He should be fine.Ok will do thank you so much.
Hello Richard ( my rooster) seems to be doing better,IV been giving him Pedialyte from a syringe and he's taking that down good, day 2 he would not eat yet ,day 3 ,today I put some soft gravy like cat food in a syringe and fed him this way and it worked also the electrolights.so he's standing up now and yesterday when I came home he was walking around a little.Yes I have him away from others,in a dimly lit area.with a super soft fluffy blanket to rest on and keep him snuggly warm.i believe he's as comfortable as I can get him to be.I have been putting neosporine on his head wounds ,it's for pain and has antibiotics in it .seems to be doing well.now it's the wait time to heal.thats a bit nerve racking but I know it's gonna take some time.so I keep the nerve racking hidden deep inside .Thank you for chatting with me and being there.that has helped me out a lot.GodBless you and your kindnessHow is your rooster today? Sorry this happened to him. He may benefit from some electrolytes and even sugar water if he is still feeling a bit sluggish. I hope you are keeping him somewhere away from other for a while, somewhere warm, dim and quiet could be nice for him right until he perks up.
