Rooster looks like he is crowing but no sound comes out? Need advice

How can I help him, I don't have the funds to take to vet, please help, give me something maybe I can bye over the counter

FYI Gapeworm is NOT common at all.
I was not correct in suggesting that it may be that to the OP all those years ago.

That bird was more likely having a hard time breathing due to a respiratory disease.
