symptoms and problems
slow moving
He eats and drinks, but not as much as he use to.
I think he has a broken toe.
fluffed up alot,
he stands on our house steps alot of the day. just standing and doing nothing.
after he eats he almost always chokes, or holds his mouth open, and breaths heavily.
his eyes water somtimes.
one minute i think hes fine, and the next he has his tail down. ( not all the time, just sometimes.)

treatments
I have feed him eggs, yogert, oats,a bit of honey, all with his normal food.
we thought it was mites, so we treated for that. (there gone now)
I gave him two days worth of baytril, but it did nothing for him.
we soaked his toe in Epsom salt
put him with the hen, and he did perk up a little, but not really anymore.
gave him lots of treats

I think thats about it.

Oh he has been like this for at least a mouth now

I wormed about a month ago.
I got some worm suff at my feed store, but ift dosent say its for chickens. I t just says the dose for cats and dogs.

the people at the feed store said to use it.

i treated the chickens as 6 lb cats.

what was the name of the wormer, sounds like he could have gape worm by what your describing and I doubt dog and cat wormer will kill them you need to treat with Epernix pour-on or Ivermectin pour-on. or get Valbazen and treat with that, but I wouldn't solely depend on what people at the feed store tell you, One person at my feed store says to use bleach to kill worms, yep I bet it would kill worms and most likely the chiken too.

Heres the wromer i used. its called Piperazine-17

were can I get the worms you sugested, if my feed store dosent sell them????

Thank you both so much !

I just looked it up and peperazine -17 and it only treats round worms and pin worms so it won't take care of gape worms or other types of worms, if your feed store doesn't carry either of these then try TSC. but Epernix and Ivermectin are both cattle wormers so most likely a feed store would carry them. Find out which one you are going to get and them get back with us and we'll give you the directions to administer. Valbazen is probably at your feed store too,it has to be given by mouth the other 2 you put on the back of the neck on the skin.

I found a feed store, that has Ivermectin, but they said it was for horses.
is this the right one?
I havent bought it yet.

it's Ivermectin pour-on be sure it's pour on. and yes its for cattle but safe to use for chickens. I'm not sure about the horses but I would assume it's the same but ask them if it's for cattle too.
