rooster or hen?

i have had this hen for about a year now and i have never seen her lay and egg she has grown spurs and has a somewhat large comb. i do not know what breed "she" is but im curious as to whether she is a rooster or not.

Looks like a mixed breed hen. Some hens do grow spurs. Do you know how old she is?

she along with some other hens were given to me by a freind. i do not know the exact age but my guess is 2 - 3 years

Since you are not sure of her age, that may be playing a part in the lack of laying. She appears to be a pretty healthy looking bird and since you are seeing eggs from other birds it is unlikely that this is a dietary issue, etc. That said, it also seems you aren't completely certain she isn't laying - I would suggest separating her for a few days and then you'll know if she is/isn't laying. Yes, separation can disrupt laying, but that should take a day or two to really become an issue so you may see an egg before that arises and then know that she is, in fact, laying.

On what are you basing this? Other than the presence of spurs (which can occur on hens), there does not appear to be a single other rooster characteristic showing through on this bird.

That is really no indication of gender, but all the physical characteristics are - and they all indicate being a hen.
