Rooster Question

Any rooster can become aggressive, unfortunately. The key is not raising him like a pet and loving on him, but treating him with respect and understanding he is livestock.

That said, cochins and Brahmas are historically docile. Silkies are good, too. Orpingtons are fairly nice.

I raise and breed the HUGE Heritage English Orpingtons! I have raised several roosters who all had different personalities, when they were in their teenage stage a never touched them unless it was something medical that had to be done. and I think due to the very limited physical contact they grew up to be docile roos that see you as the dominate roo. I have never been flogged nor have my 12-14 lb. roosters ever shown any aggression towards me!

I will add that no matter how had you try, some times aggression is just in their blood!

Best ones are silkies, in my opinion, or cochins, because their basicly dogs who lay eggs. Don't try to get a game roo if you want a calm one, they are made to fight.

But seriously, im not looking to eat any rooster that I get. Any other suggestions?
