I've been possitive Dolly Carton is really a Salvador Dahli (rooster) the problem is he is almost 6 months old has never mated tried to mate and hasn't even crowed :/ I'm glad he hasn't crowed yet :) but today my rooster mounted him?! He is a rooster to me still but why hasn't he started acting like one? I've heard of people with "roosters" Saddle feathers and all but they're hens. Do I have one of those? Or is he just confused? Again I'm like positive look wise he is a he but anyone know personality wise what's happening?

Yep, you've got a Salvador, he's getting mated because he isn't the dominate male.
He's only 6 months too, so it might take a few more before he decides he's able to act like a "rooster". Once he starts the realationship with your other male will change and he might actually challenge your other male.:)

Just maturing slowly... maybe hormones kicking in late, and subordinate personality... agreed, he is a cockerel.

I don't let roosters mount each other... it's cause for culling in my book.. and had very few that do it. It can be a display of dominance. But if it's constant... it's just a display of ignorance IMO. :smack It has never been perpetuated by my head rooster, yet.

Once his hormones start kicking in... he may not be as timid or willing to be mounted. :fl
