Rooster Sumbissive Squatting

I have a 5 month old silver laced Cochin rooster that was supposed to be a hen when we got him, and it shows. He’s grown up to have a lovely personality and look, but just out of curiosity, is it normal for a rooster to do the submissive squat? Whenever I put my hand on him even very lightly, he will squat like a hen and present his bottom very visibly to me. I tend to reach under his wings then and give him a nice scritching on his chest and he seems to love that, but the bottom in my face is kinda graphic at times!! I know it’s a rooster because he crows and has the tail feathers to prove it, so I’m just wondering if sumbissive squatting is like a dominance thing that roosters will do with each other maybe? It just seems odd that he is so intensely pulling back his feathers and showing me that vent or whatever their butt is called when he is clearly a rooster? Maybe it’s just from the enjoyment of being scritched under the chest?

it is probably submissive. my hens will do that squat sometimes when I stand over them. it's the same pose that a hen will do when she says yes to the rooster's wing dance.
