Looking for advice on our 2 yr old Mille rooster. Swollen conjunctiva, lesions (unsure if from him scratching). He is Eating & drinking. Separated him from the others & gave him liquid oral vitamins. Feet & legs look good. He's a sweet heart named Willie.

Have you checked him for mites and lice? Are you seeing any symptoms, such as runny nostrils, sneezing or coughing, wheezing, or rattles when he breathes? Can you look into his eyes with a flashlight for any tiny worms or gunk? Have you ever seen any respiratory diseases before in your flock? Any new additions to the flock?

He doesn't seem to have any other symptoms. No respitory symptoms His 2 girls seem to have slightly puffy eyelids but nothing like his. (I'm not sure they look any different than normal)

Hi @ddanielle31 Welcome To BYC:frow

How long have you had him and the hens?
Have you introduced any new chickens to your flock within the last 30days?

It's hard to tell, but it looks like he has small scabs/wounds around the face and eyes?
Since you report no respiratory symptoms, then it could be from pecking or possibly Fowl Pox. If you've noticed him scratching, check him over for lice/mites as mentioned above.

You can flush the eyes with saline and apply some Terramycin eye ointment or Vetericyn eye gel to see if that helps.

Antibiotics may be needed if it doesn't clear up, but you need to first know the cause.

Hi Wyorp Rock
We've had his girls since February and him since April. They've never produced fertile eggs together but love each other lol
We did get 2 chicks over a month ago but their not around our D'uccles.
He does have scabs/sores around his eyes I think are pretty constant with fowl pox.
I checked again this morning & no signs of mites or paracites.
We have an appointment at 2:30 today for the chicken veterinarian so hopefully they will give us some insight as to what's wrong with our Willy boy
