Rooster with black comb

More rooster comb info: There are several roosters, but he's the dominant one. This started out with just some black in the middle of the comb and has gotten worse over the last few days. The comb is also shrinking--the blade is shriveled and very stiff. I'm thinking maybe it's poor circulation, but caused by what? Today I removed a mucus plug from both nostrils. I irrigated the nostrils with saline solution. His crow is also hoarse. He's still struting around, but I'm afraid that comb is getting gangrene. He's in the house right now resting. I've sent an email to a poultry vet at Purdue-when I know more I will pass it on.

I'd try colloidal silver on it. That stuff is amazing if it is made right.

"I'd try colloidal silver on it" Thanks Moabite-I'd forgotten about silver. When my DD had a toenail burned back her doctor prescribed silver ointment. Not sure if I have any left.......................
