Rooster??

hey guys I was wondering if a rooster would round up my hens. I like to keep my chickens free range but they’re wondering to far and going deep in the woods and by my neighbors house (even though it’s a whole field away!) and I can’t keep running outside every couple minutes to chase them back. I have a pen for them (that they of course fly out of) but right now I’m keeping my ducks in it because I’m expecting some ducklings soon, so for now the chickens have to stay free range. I also prefer them free range Anyway I was just wondering if a rooster would keep them close to the coop or if he’ll just wonder with them too.

A rooster would forage right along with the rest of the flock. Perhaps leading them even further away.

Sounds like you need to invest in some fencing so you can be a good neighbor.
