Roosters? Please help!

Well this was the first time I had ever butchered anything myself. It took me around 30 minutes each. But like I said they was just lil bantam roosters. will make good chicken and dumplins. or roast like lil cornish hens.. they have a lot of meat compared to what i thought.

That is my goal for 2013 I do not want to buy any poultry at all from the grocery store unless i have too.. I have duck eggs in the bator for that purpose I am ordering heavy straight run and a friend is giving me turkey eggs so i should be set.

I love the cornish x but I just want something that grows slower and i dont have to worry about them dying plus i get attached to them. I love their little fat selves! :/

We butchered two old hens on the 24th for a Xmas gumbo. Got the crawfish pot out and fired up the burner to a rolling boil. Killed both hens and dunked the bodys under water for about 20sec. Feathers just scrape off with none left behind. Had both birds butchered and seasoned in 15min. Next day cooked then in a gumbo for about three hours, talk about some good eating
