Rose growers thread!

I only have 2 survivors; a cheap hybrid tea from Walmart (can't remember which one it is) and The Fairy (floribunda), which has tons of buds on it. Now if only the deer will let it bloom, I'll have a mass of pink blossoms in a few days.

The only one blooming here is Rosa rugosa, just a few blooms. 3 of the new DA's and 2 shrubs that I planted last week are blooming (Julia Child and Eureka), but they don't really count.. I bought them budded and ready to bloom. They certainly are pretty though!
I have thousands of buds on Mannington Mauve rambler, right outside the front door

as well as on almost all the other roses.

Geesh--you're right! And I used to know that, too. Guess I'm forgetting in my 'old' age

Ohhh, Roses, I have been considered delusional and dangerous for a rose. I have the amazing good fortune to live near the "Heirloom Roses Nursury", in St.Paul Oregon. Own root roses
and hundreds of varieties including David Austin, Meilland,etc . They have a half price sale every first week of August and I love to go there. I have no rose in my yard unless it has a fragrance. My favorites, Mme Isaac Peirre, Souvenir de Malmaison, Tess of the D'Urbanvilles, Eden (Pink) Eden(red) Jude the Obscure, Evelyn,Margaret Merrill. Mary Magdalene. Oops lost control there. See what I mean.

I have to say, the cool wet climate we are living in this year has produced some epic jungle growth on some of them. Or, they then grow strange sideways shoots to get more sun. I hope to acquire some rugosas for the hips this year. Just havent figured where to plant them next.

OMG Rachael C that is cruel and unusual to say you live near that rose nursery and a half price sale next week and none of us are going!!!! I live too far away....
