Matt, I don't believe there are any self blue RC breeders... If they do exist, they will take some time to track down. You could call Steve Beatty on the rosecomb website and ask him... He's the only person whom I know of to ask.
I think you'll be fine the the oegb's. Dutch would be nice because they have the white lobes but, you'll get smutty white ones on your first generation. Cull all the straight combs and cross your F1 rosecombed crosses together. Pick your best babies from those (SB) and cross those back to black RC. Try and get two generations this year.

Here's my boy. I really needed round lobes so Im happy there. I also like this guy's huge facial features. I don't really care for the small combed males. This guy does have a pretty high sweep of the comb.. but, my line has really nice, slightly arched combs so I think they'll go well together.

I wish he didn't have so short of a back but, hey, he isn't perfect or Leslie wouldn't have sold him to me. My guy's have great valleys so they will match him well

But, what he does have that is perfect is that awesome tail!!! Feathers could be wider but, overall, I am very happy

Here are some more pics of my babies. I tried to clean up their tails. It was a fail. I'll have to wait till spring, when it's warmer.

Their tail feathers are all dirty, stuck together & broken. Can't wait till they can have a real bath !

The roo is in molt. He's a couple years old, hence his tail being in it's current condition !

Overall, I love them !

Msbear Leslies males are short backed small combed. That's what she wins with! He is one of her better males. She saves all her birds till nationals then sells most afterwards she only keeps a small handful every year! You can't go wrong at all with him

also you have to think they produce better females then males!

Jacklyn, you may have to just pull out all the tail feathers and let them grow back in nice and new... That's what I would do. I know it sounds awful but, get a pair of needle nose plyers and get a good grip on each feather at its base and SLOWLY pull out the feather. It doesn't hurt the birds as much as you'd think. Work quickly and each will be done quick. I had some young males in the juvie pen that got wrecked up .. not quite as bad as that but I had to yank the sickles and a bunch of the other tail feathers. They have already started growing back and will be prime time for this year.

BPF, I hope no one thinks I was knocking my new roo. I am just so thrilled with him. I'll email Leslie and see if she has any pics of him at peak condition.. What a knock out.. just trying to critique him for everyone to understand his pros and cons and how I plan to use him in my breeding program. I agree with you when you said, "she wins with them" talking about the smaller features and the short back and she mentioned it to me but, the standard doesn't call for it and I, personally, like the valley and the larger features so that's the direction Im heading

My current roo has a super big comb with small points all over his comb. I really like the look of that... though it may be too much and her roo will calm that down a bit.

Leslie's roo has a pretty substantial sized comb as well.. I've seen a LOT smaller and that's what I was referring to when I said I didn't particularly care for the roos with small combs. I think her roo will give me a huge jump this next season and I AM very happy

Oh no I know you wasn't knocking him. Everyone has there own idea of what they want! Me personally, he is what I'm breeding for! Glad you like him he should produce some really nice birds for ya keep us informed on what you produce frOm him

AND GUYS NO, BIG NO NO, in my experience with any black rosecomb never ever pull out feathers, they come back in WHITE TIPPED, much better if you let them moult, plus pulling feathers on these guys seems to cause damage over time, twisted feathers and messed up shafts that won't come off when new, and feathers that flop from too much pulling, my first boy had all of this, still getting better from multiple mults, not to mention white tipped can knock you way down in judging and if its an in. or more your d.q.-you can force them to molt by less light hours or more light hours, opposite of what you are now, but please don't pull feathers on rosecombs, they are a very sensitive breed that takes a lot of work and patience, and you thought dry feathers was bad!

I also raise cochins and we need to pull around the vent to achieve fertility (trimming creates hard stubs which will prevent the connection) so.. maybe I've just gotten a bit numb to it... know it sounds harsh... but, those feathers have soft shafts and come out VERY easily... I've tried the slow pull on a few RC feathers that didn't want to give and I've let it alone... I thought maybe it was just because it was the sickle ... anyway, you're probably right there... and, def right about Jackelyn's birds. ...It sounds like an easy fix but, those birds are much too far gone and a LOT of feathers to pull... totally would stress out the bird

guess I really didn't think about it... not to mention the fact that they'd be naked in January.
