My DH is building me a coop very much like this one. Except he put the nesting boxes on the side opposite where you have your door. We thought there may be too much water run off over the boxes if we put them on the 'short'
end (maybe just too much over kill though. lol)
Anyway, I have to ask, are you going to use the triangles on the sides, created by how the roof is made, as your ventilation or are you planning on closing them in? I ask because that is what we are planning to do (vents). I need to figure how to lay out my roosts so that the birds won't be in a draft in the winter. Should I do them // with the vents or perpendicular to the vents? And lower than the vents? Also, our nesting boxes are also inset like the ones you made so could we put roosts above the boxes? I know they won't be able to poop in the boxes from the roost, but I didn't know if it would be a problem for the birds when they are laying, like will they still lay in the boxes?
