So frustrating! You hear all the time about how hunters can't find land to hunt on, because it's all posted. People like that are to blame for wanting to keep hunters off of the land, although I agree that people like that aren't real hunters, just greedy jerks.
Very rarely does a hunter ask permission to hunt on our land. In Vermont they don't need to, legally, but is sure as heck would be polite. I've come to loath hunting season because we see it all - jacking, road hunters (who shoot our of their vehicles), even one time a group of three 'hunter' guys in a truck driving up and down our road looking for deer in our fields. They stopped to talk to my husband, and one of the 'hunter' guys was - naked!!! In the truck! My husband asked them, "Why is he naked?" and one of the guys said said, "Oh, he got hot."
Now the real hunters we probably don't even see at all - they come and go quietly, don't hunt from their vehicles, and don't sit and the end of our road jacking deer. The nuisance hunters are the most visible.
