Yes, my plan is to just put them in on the existing grass and bring in wood chips to start DLM once they tear it all up. I’m hoping to do the minimal amount of digging to get the frame level as we have clay soil and the run will be under a large tree.

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier! We still haven’t got the roof on yet but I really like how it turned out overall!

I used two layers of 4x4s for the base and 2x4s for the rest of the frame. The door still need some work (wonky construction lumber not fitting just right).

I also constructed a “bridge” from the run to the coop since they had mismatched roof lines.

(swing door has since been replaced with a guillotine style door)

Looks great! And you’re so close. I’ll bet you can’t wait to get it finished. Bring your wood chips in now, so they will be aged when you want to put them in the run.
