ThanksNope Runners are Indian Runners [full name of breed] some are called hatchery quality because they don't necessarily stand as erect as the more show quality but unless your showing I don't see it makes a difference. Runners are beautiful birds.
I have more drakes so far he is the only one that has curled so far. The others are just telling me when they talk to me that they are boys. Its weird how they all are changing at different times butlol well didn't you ask for one? I have 4 drakes in my collection of 9 lol
Yep they are amazing mine are going to be 10 weeks on Friday and since 6 weeks I could tell drake from female by voice and I love the voice of the Runner drake, having Muscovy's since 2004 and no other breed it's so cool to hear actual duck quacks. Mine are molting right now so I know look forward to what they will look like when through with that. They are so different than my scovy's.I have more drakes so far he is the only one that has curled so far. The others are just telling me when they talk to me that they are boys. Its weird how they all are changing at different times butthe same time.![]()

Actually I was reading about Indian Runners the other day and when startled or excited is when they stand more erect. Mine march like soldiers full erect when moving it's so cute.Mine are hatchery and you can tell by looking at them but they are very sweet. There are times that they will stand more erect than others but for the most part they are what I call half stance.
Sounds like they are establishing pecking order, once you let trouble out it might have to start all over again. lolMy runners are 12 weeks old. I noticed yesterday that Romeo has a shadow.Every where he goes a smaller male follows him. In fact it chases him and jumps on him. Or tryes. Romeo is bigger. The small male is just running Romeo like crazy today and its over heating Romeo. So I got the small trouble maker and put him in the coop with food and water. My question is. Is this the right thing to do or should I let them have at it and see what happens?
best to let them have at it then? Just keep a eye on them?Sounds like they are establishing pecking order, once you let trouble out it might have to start all over again. lol
