Welcome to BYC @TerriB90Hi I have 2 white runner ducks a male and a female.
My female has just started laying eggs she now has 7 in her nest but I haven't seen her sitting on them.
I have read a lot about them laying and I am worried they won't hatch on there own should I start taking them out or will she start sitting once she is finished laying? I would love babies![]()
It's hard to say if your Runner will brood. Some will some won't it all depends on the duck. Some on here have had their Runners sit and hatch and then turn out to be not so good mamas.[that can happen with any breed though] Let her finish building her clutch you can remove as many of the older dirtier eggs once she commits she won't care as long as she has some eggs to sit on. I'd mark the ones she is on now I put the date so I can keep up with the oldest and newest laid.
Lets see if @CyndiD can offer any advise she has had Runners brood and finish.
