Hi! I'm hoping to be a member of this club! I received my first runner ducks last week. (Ten mixed color runners, lost one due to genetic issues or bad hatch-- in chicks I would just call it failure to thrive. Wow! They grow fast!)

I've been doing lots of reading, and everything seems "ducky" so far with them. I'm receiving a second shipment of five more this morning (to cover loss from first shipment... it was a duck, and I received two drakes-- didn't want to throw off duck/drake ratio too bad. And, it was a good excuse to add a few more to the mix ;-) )

They act so totally different from baby chicks, I'm kinda thrown for a loop as far as what to expect. I'm going to try to brood these new ones with week olds from previous shipment. Luckily, my brooder is large and can easily be divided if needed. Any advice?

My latest duckling/goose order arrived from Johnson's Waterfowl on Thursday.
3 boys, 4 more girls and 3 African Geese. Finally have boys for my 11 other girls.

Got my 4 runners from Metzer last Wednesday one of each fawn and white, chocolate, blue, and black. So cute they are great. All female to go with my 2 male Pekins later.

Love the diversity of birb on that box. A box of soft fluffers.

And I don't care if it is filled and pristine looking it only takes about 10 mins for it to be mucky. And half full.
