That's a pretty duck. Much calmer than mine.\

Your birds are precious. And I'm so sorry for the hardships you've endured with some of them.Cinnamon - the THIRD generation.
Cinnamon, my favorite duck, died earlier this year.

She left behind ONE son that looked like her, my drake Apple. But last summer Apple got West Nile virus and he is paralyzed. He can't stand, so he can't help me make another baby Cinnamon.

Cinnamon's other children don't even have head stripes!!! So there is not much hope that one would ever make more little Cinnamons.
Oh, yea, I tend to forget. There is also Beacon. Beacon was unplanned and unexpected. We never did know who Beacon's dad was. But Beacon did come out of one of Cinnamon's eggs (no, I had no white ducks on the property when Beacon was conceived. He was a total surprise!)

Hmmmm. So if I hope to make a little Cinnamon, my last chances are carried by Beacon, with the unknow dad, and... gee, I only have two runner girls. The first is a penciled runner girl. The second is half penciled runner and half dusky runner. But her name is Rose and she was Cinnamon's best friend. Does that count for something?

In the picture is Rose with one of her babies by Beacon. Hmmmmm. Adorable, but not a bit like Cinnamon. But... wait, wait... miracles DO happen!!!!

No guarantees till they get their feathers, but still, when you look at them, don't they remind you of someone?
