CyndiD I can't even find runner eggs. Have three little mixed maybe full breed hatched this morning. Mom has some more eggs waiting to see if anymore hatch. Didn't get all seperated before they started laying. Had a pair of buff and a pair of khaki campbell along with a male runner. No telling what I will get lol And I lost 1st post to you and did second and 1st came back. Think a little problem going on since you had problems. Thought I had done something wrong.

Unlucky picker, are you on facebook? There are several Virginia based chicken/farm groups on there that I'm a member of, and I feel like there are at least several members who do raise runners. Even if not in your local area, they may be able to send you hatching eggs.

CyndiD have fb page hardly ever get on it. A lady that lives near me had told me there were farm sites last year. Never found them. Maybe look again. Got on Craig's list on several different cities close to me and nothing . Lynchburg Danville Roanoke Richmond. Have on Richmond because that's what Farmville sellers use.

How tall do Runner ducks get in 1 month? I have to gorgeous Runners and i cant wait to find out so im asking  :3

I have 3 Blue & 1 chocolate Runners that r going to be 3 weeks in a couple of days. The chocolate runner is the biggest/tallest & she is about 14" tall. The Blue's r 10" & 12" tall. I assume by t/4th week they should grow another couple of inches, at least.

The side boards of this brooder is 12" w/2"-3" inches of straw & a 2" step-up to their water platform. Hope this gives u an idea?

Here is my big gal at 1 1/2 months. That is my large 2 year old son in the pic. She was around 20 inches tall give or take my other runner isn't nearly as tall.

I love ur Blue. I have not had blue's or chocolate runners, til now. Do they keep their spots, colored fathers, when they mature? I love the spots, the ones on their feet too! Makes it eäsy to identify each of mine/tell them apart.

Thank you. She has kept all her spots but her feet have lighten up a little bit. She is the largest out of all my ducks and is a treat hound! She comes inside of I forget to closed the back door.

NEW TO RUNNER THREAD Just found out I've got two probable BLUE runners! I'm very excited! Is there anything special these two need that's any different from the others?

The all blue, GreyFeather, is 5wks old and tall as my 7wk Pekings. The other blue with yellow bib, Olympyus, 4wks old is almost the same height as GF. They both stand tall and proud. Grey is my cuddle duck, he spends alot of time indoors, in bed with me. He loves to snuggle and give kisses. sadly I've got to bring him and a friend inside. He's got a case of wobbly legs. As per advise of some helpful BYC members he's got about a week of indoor treatment.

Have you taken a look at metzerfarms.com? I have no personal experience in buying hatchlings or babies from the internet. From what I've seen on here the site is quite reputable. Maybe give a look to see if they've still got runners?

OH MY! what a tall one you've got. A taste of what is ahead of me. I have one the same color, and close in age.


I can't Wait to find out the sex of all my ducks! Maybe I'll end up with runner eggs next spring!

If I do I'd deff be willing to share. I'm in Maryland.

CyndiD l see there is gonna be a swap met the 16th at Noah's Pet Shop on 460 in Prospect, Va. Saw on Craig's list. Not to far for me to go. Near Farmville. Maybe I'll find something there. Hope some of the Richmond people may come. Wish me luck lol

@Reese7383 & unlucky, i just bought 10 ducklings from Metzer Farms, they have a minimum of 10 ducks/chicks, etc. My ducklings are 1,2 & 3 wks old now.
I am VERY happy wth my ducklings & their professionalism. They sex the ducklings for a tiny fee. I got exactly what i wanted. I highly recommend Metzer Farms
