runner duck - cough or hiccups? aspergillosis?

I was thinkng that too its been like 3 weeks !
she eats and drinks plenty.
at least I havent heard a hiccup in a few hours.
I been praying for her 🙏🦆

how much coconut oil is too much because the last few days this is how Poppy is early in the morning if I don’t give her coconut oil, but after I put the coconut oil in her mouth, she is much better. This makes me wonder if she scraped her throat with one of the rocks that she eats, and the coconut oil soothe it?? I have seen her frequently in the past trying to eat pebbles that are too big to be grit . Like maybe she scraped her trachea opening a little bit. It looks fine when I looked down her throat everything looks OK. Why else could she be doing this coughing but the coconut oil helps it?

@Goosebaby i read your post in the thread about the gander with a squeaky cough, and wonder if my duck has something similar.
Some of the things that stood out to me in your reply, where the possibility of a parasite, like Giardia, as although she is molting and puffy looking all over it does seem to me that her belly looks bigger than it should be compared to my other runner ducks. or maybe respiratory irritation from Dusty bedding,
Anyway, I have all those mentioned medication‘s actually on hand like Tylosin and metronidazole and baytril and a few others .

Once you give her the coconut oil she doesn't do this again?
she does it less but not completely stopped. its bad first thing in the morning. and if i listen outside before dawn i hear her a little . in the afternoon i don’t hear it . ETA. they hate canned fish but the chickens ate it. i just put out some kitten food kibble, and Poppy is actually the only duck who likes it! Maybe she does need the protein!

I was surprised my ducks didn't go for the mackerel but they didn't.

I just don't know what could be going on with Poppy unless like you said possibly the dust off the bedding it is really hard to to know what could be going on. I use Oxine ah in my coops this you can also use as a nebulizer I only use it to spray roosts and bedding after I have cleaned but when I used to go to shows I would always just the mist on my sprayer and point it above my flocks head and spray and let the mist fall down unto their heads and faces it is really good for killing viruses.
