I have a few blue runner girls. Recently, lost my blue male when he got himself tangled in reeds at the edge of the pond and drowned. :-( I may get a young silver male. I didn't even know there was such a color for runners.
Wondering about the genetics of blue and silver and what I might get if I hatch a few eggs next year.
Thanks!

Silver is just two copies of blue :) So your blue girls bred to a silver drake would result in 50% blue offspring and 50% silver offspring.

thank you, Pyxis!! that sounds very pretty! I have sent an email to the person who advertised the silver male. Hope he is still available. Have a good evening...and again... many thanks for the info!

You're welcome! And just to be sure, are you in the US? If not, silver might be a different color, since some countries use silver to mean what we call snowy in the US.

I don't know much about coloring but the little fellow doesn't look much like a harlequin.Thank you for your help!
