*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

Nightbird was finally able to yank her tail away due to Lionpaw’s distraction. It felt like it was on fire. She didn’t dare spare a look at her tail, instead leaping away to stand beside Lionpaw. “Forgive me for trying to lure the dog away from camp!” She growled in an undertone, not taking her eyes off the dog. We need to keep it out here, and preferably without any more tail grabbing. She darted forward and swiped at its legs before retreating to allow Lionpaw to attack.
The dog let out a throaty growl as Lionpaw dashed forward, keeping his tail low so it wouldn't grab him, and clawed at its side, feeling satisfied as he felt his claws ripping its flesh. Before it could turn and bite at him, he darted back

Nightbird dashed under the dog’s belly, then jumped and clawed at its rump. It twisted around, snapping at her. She leaped backwards.
While the dog was facing her, he leaped onto its back and clawed at its eyes. Finally, the dog tucked in its tail and ran. Lionpaw leaped down from its back at the last moment

Nightbird nodded to Lionpaw once the dog had disappeared into the undergrowth. She was panting a little. However much she dreaded facing the rest of the dogs in camp, it was her duty as a warrior to fight. So she turned and started back at a brisk trot, the sounds of battle gradually getting louder as they got closer.

Lionpaw followed her, his tail-tip twitching warily. They soon were back in the midst of the battle. Lionpaw quickly assessed everything around him before flinging himself at the dog that Moosepelt was fighting

(It might just be me, but I always feel bad for the dogs in the warrior cats books. They always seem to get the raw end of the deal. Just some nice owner's puppy who escaped and whose prey drive led them to a group of feral cats. Then the dogs get brutally injured and try to run back home in critical condition (if they even make it) and most likely get whisked away, upon return, to a scary trip to the vet!)

Moosepelt cast Lionpaw a grateful look. As he looked away, though, the dog sank it's sharp teeth deep into his shoulder and ripped out a chunk of flesh. Moosepelt let out a loud bellow of pain.

Moosepelt's vision blurred as the pain overwhelmed him. He sank to the ground and started trying to drag himself out of the fighting zone so he wouldn't be trampled. He passed out at the edge of camp.

Lionpaw tensed, realizing that left only him to face the dog. He took a deep breath and then started attacking its legs, weaving in and out to unbalance it and darting away with it tried to snap at him. Eventually, the dog fell and Lionpaw wasted no time pouncing on it, trying to claw at its eyes.
Owlherb darted out of the medicine den, herbs and cobwebs clutched in her jaw as she went over to Moosepelt. With Floodlight's help, they dragged him into the safety of their den and began applying marigold and cobwebs.

Moosepelt was still out cold.

Dustfur saw Lionpaw facing the dog alone. Before rushing in to help him, she took some time to think logically, as she always did. Lionpaw and the dog were fighting near the edge of camp, and the canopy of some trees were hanging overhead. Quickly, she weaved her way up the tree and scurried out onto a low hanging branch. Waiting for just the right moment, she dropped from the branch onto the dog's back, sinking her claws into the beast's ribs. The dog yowled and tried to throw her off, but Dustfur clung on. Finally, the dog rolled over onto his back, crushing Dustfur's hind leg, but exposing the dog's soft belly. "Get him, now!" Hissed Dustfur to Lionpaw, trying to pull her leg from under the dog.

With a quick nod in understanding, he scrambled onto its belly and dug his claws in deep. He grimaced as he felt them ripping flesh and saw massive amounts of blood coming out of it, but he reminded himself that the dog was here to kill his Clanmates.
