Before it could turn and bite at him, he darted backNightbird was finally able to yank her tail away due to Lionpaw’s distraction. It felt like it was on fire. She didn’t dare spare a look at her tail, instead leaping away to stand beside Lionpaw. “Forgive me for trying to lure the dog away from camp!” She growled in an undertone, not taking her eyes off the dog. We need to keep it out here, and preferably without any more tail grabbing. She darted forward and swiped at its legs before retreating to allow Lionpaw to attack.
