Mine is almost 7 months old and probably going to be the last of her flock to start laying but just the sweetest thing. She has always beeped more than peep/cluck and she follows me around beeping at me.

I don't have Orloffs But I am considering getting a couple. A few questions:
Are they good layers?
Are they a recognized breed in the United States?
Are they a heritage breed?
Any specifics?

They are fair layers, 4-5 eggs a week I'd say on average. They are not APA recognized yet. They do very well in cold weather and fairly good in the heat as well. They a very good dual purpose breed, especially for colder climates.
