Russian Orloffs

If I don't find any by then than most deffenantly

From experience and reading threads on BYC, many people find the breeders whose birds they like and order ahead. Might have to wait a few months to get what you want. I waited several months to get my heritage Rhode Island Red, New Hampshires, and Barred Rocks. I waited 9 months to get my turkeys from Porter (ordered/paid in August, got the poults the next May).

Oh grea so you still have the chicks available? Or do you know someone that does?

I will be setting up my breeding pens pretty soon if you want to order chicks. I prefer to hatch to order. I could have some for you sometime in February.
Terry Chicken there you go, I cant more honest with you then this if you can just sit and
put in a little waiting time for " desertmarcy " your out come will be more then worth it and
I can tell you there is nothing like having a yard that looks the way you would want it to
compared to getting something you may not later want .............

I think liking in Alaska this would be one of the chickens on your list

I have a lot of different breeds, and find the Orloffs to have the best personality. Very curious, always wanting to know what you are doing, watching you, underfoot instead of running away. Very friendly birds. That is why I keep them even though they are not the best for a hot climate like where I live. Plus they are beautiful.

Mine have only been laying for about 3 months so I'm not sure. I've read somewhere on this post I believe that they lay about 160/yr. Some varieties like the Mahogany will lay a beige egg with whitish spots kind of speckling looking (probably what is called tinted)
