Got some spangled orloff chicks hatched valentines weekend. Have some with tail feathers and some with no to very little tail feathers. Any indication on gender based on feather growth rate???

And saw some one above mention getting eggs from Oklahoma. I'm in Oklahoma, will you post or PM who you got the eggs from?

shelbydog at about 4 months you can start telling the sex by the soulder feathers. MAles are long & pointy females rounded. I also believe I read that one of them feathers in quicker but don't rember it it's the males or females. I'll have to find where I read it. Congrats on your hatch

Cknldy nice looking chicks. tesaba does look like a cockerel to me, probably about 5 months or so? You have any pics a bit closer up?

Cockerel and fairly nice from what I can see. The Marans cockerel isn't bad either.

My 'nice' pullet laid an egg today! Yee haw! Now to get her in with one of the boys I want to try to hatch out blacks with and then when the spangled cockerels get going I can finally hatch my own RO.
