Russian Orloffs

Ok, I was going to wait to post until after I bought some but I couldn't. I should be picking my new flock of Spangled Bantams on Saturday! I'm very excited. One Rooster, One Cockerel, and 6 Pullets and Hens!!! If any of you have any suggestions or advice that would be great!!

Am I correct in thinking that is one of the H and H birds?
I must say those legs are strikingly yellow. nice beard too. I'm really thinking of gettin some eggs from them as well as more from star bright farms this spring.

Yes, your right. She is from H&H farms. They all have that yellow on their legs.This one particularly has the largest white beard. I would love to see your Orloffs!

If I can get the ladies and the weather to cooperate, I'll be glad to post pics. Right now I only have the 4 hens (2 from Kummer and 2 from Star Bright Farms)
I am impressed with the H&H birds you've got, it looks like they have done good work with their stock.

eta: are the roo with the hens and the bottom pic with more white H&H, as well?

ok, here's a few pics snapped today. I have 4 girls total... 2 from kummer farms hatched 4/7/11 and 2 from star bright farms hatched 7/4/11.
the kummer birds have more white in them compared to the star bright farm birds.

not the best pics, but you get the idea of the different lines. They are all wonderful girls. I look forward to getting more of them (hopefully a roo or two, as well) to hatch this spring.

Inquired with H and H poultry about orloff eggs and was disappointed with this reply.
"Hi! I no longer have the orloffs. I do have the Brabanters and may let a few go this year. Are you wanting eggs? also, the feed does include the shipping. Thanks!"



I am checking in with Tinstar Heritage Farm. and am on the waiting list with StarBright Farms.
One way or another I'm going to build and improve my flock this year.
