Ruthie the ...... rooster???

We bought Ruthie as an 11 week old pull it. Sweet sweet sweet chicken who was rejected by our current small flock and accepted by the ducks. Then the baby ducks hatched and when they were big enough to go outside Ruthie became a jerk to the baby ducks -being the typical bully picking on someone smaller after being bullied. ( Like literally my rooster and “twin” Wyandottes tried to kill her)

Well the older Ruthie gets the more pronounced her comb is and I’m beginning to wonder… Is she not a she after all? What do you think? I know she’s got it either lay an egg or a crow but do y’all have hens with combs like this?

I bought “her” at 11 weeks. “She” is almost 18 weeks now. Let me see if I can add a full body pic tomorrow!

Honestly from the photo looks like a POL pullet. I have one with an even bigger comb and wattles. Full body pic would definitely help. Make sure to include a good close up of the saddle area. Should be saddle feathers evident by 18 weeks.

She’s a pullet. Should be crowing by now if a rooster. Also there are no pointy feathers on her neck.

There are several breeds in which even the hens have large combs. Google Leghorns, for one.

Honestly from the photo looks like a POL pullet. I have one with an even bigger comb and wattles. Full body pic would definitely help. Make sure to include a good close up of the saddle area. Should be saddle feathers evident by 18 weeks.

Ty! I knew they could be large- my RIR for instance. But Rithies is pronounced with the points- I was worried!
