All you EE fans - have you found, as I have, that EE's (my hatchery - Privett Hatchery in NM - bills them as Ameraucanas) are the most people-friendly, and even affectionate, chickens EVAH!?

All the EE's I have, and have had in the past, have all had the most consistently outgoing and calm personalities, are super lap hens, love to snuggle in my arms, and even ride around perched on my shoulder. They are about as cuddly as chickens are capable of being! If it's a super pet that you are looking for, this breed sure fits the bill! And who can resist those marvelous green and blue eggs?

And that they resemble bumble bees or chipmunks in their first days as chicks, quite simply assures that they be taken home! You don't stand a chance of saying no!

My EE is definitely my most independent woman. She is the leader of the pack, the most demanding and talkative, and the least affectionate.

All of my chickens came from Murray McMurray. We have 4 EE cockerels, and 10 EE pullets. All arrived healthy and strong and have remained so to this day, so one person's experience with a hatchery is not going to be the next person's experience.

I'd say at least 5 of mine have been laying for the last 3 weeks, and we generally get an egg a day from each. Mine are fairly friendly, and my cockerels are growing into very good roos. I love my EEs. Honestly, as far as personality goes, our favorites of this flock are the Black Stars. They are very friendly and curious, willing to stick up for themselves, but not aggressive.
