Sad Day - Lost 14 Muscovy babies to a rainstorm

I thought of that immediately, but they were nested about 20 yards outside our front door. If there had been a lightning strike, our house electrical would have been hit badly. And there's no way we would have missed a nearby strike.
They were outside in pasture area, well away from all the farm electrical lines, both overhead & underground. Mama was also with them and she is unharmed.
Thank you <3

any possible dogs around?

They were killed by another Duck....Sorry but you introduced them too soon and that happens..
I had considered that first (had it not been for the storm), but we also have a Great Pyrenees who is very protective of all our livestock. I know she would have sounded the alert if something like that were happening. This is the 3rd clutch of ducklings this year, all were introduced to the flock at the same age. The first 2 clutches were actually separated almost immediately from their mamas by the drakes who were...sexually frustrated and needy. And yet, none of those babies were harmed what-so-ever. We also have several very noisy Rouen hens who are very vocal if there is any mischief at play. I truly feel that had another duck attacked the babies, we would have heard about it immediately.
Thanks for your opinion.

Yes....When I helped rescue these Ducklings it was younger Drakes attacking and shaking them...It was so scary..I never seem such horrid attacks on Ducklings...These Ducklings were about Two weeks old when I had to Rescue them... They all lived on a pond...Very upsetting to see and other full grown Hens were being attacked also....It was horrid...
